TAX YEAR 2024 (1 MARCH 2023 – 29 FEBRUARY 2024) – SUBMISSION OF INCOME TAX RETURN

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has announced the filing dates for tax season 2024, which will open in July.

 Non-Provisional Taxpayers:                   15 July 2024 and ends 21 October 2024

Provisional taxpayers:                             15 July 2024 to 20 January 2025

Trusts:                                                           16 September 2024 to 20 January 2025

This is a friendly reminder that our in-house tax practitioner, Kirsten Mitchell, can help you remain compliant and up to date with you tax submissions.

Should you require any assistance with your return, please kindly email Kirsten the below required documentation:

  • IRP5 tax certificate(s) issued by your employer
  • Investment income – interest certificates received from financial institutions
  • Retirement annuity contribution certificates
  • Medical aid contribution certificate
  • Tax free savings account certificate
  • Details of rental property if applicable i.e., rental income and related expenses. Bond interest statement must also be attached
  • Schedule of any capital gains / losses made during the tax year
  • Travel Logbook for business km’s travelled
  • Schedule of any cryptocurrency’s bought and sold during the year
  • Solar panel(s) Incentive:
    1. How many new and unused solar panels were installed?
    2. Do you confirm that the new and unused solar panels installed had a minimum generation capacity of more than 275 watts each?
    3. Do you confirm that the solar panels were connected to the distribution board of your primary residence?
    4. Do you confirm that you received an electrical certificate of compliance after the solar panels were installed?
    5. Total cost incurred for the solar panels only. (not invertors, not batteries)

 

  • Any other information you believe necessary for the completion of your return
